Sparkle

Sparkle is a beautiful girl who has been through a lot. She's a former breeding farm dog who was initially afraid to eat and had to be brought to a healthy weight over five weeks. She found comfort sleeping in a crate and has now progressed to sleeping on her foster's bed at night. Sparkle is making great progress every day and is becoming more comfortable with her surroundings.

Ideal Home

Sparkle would do best in a home with no men, or with a man who is calm and not loud. She is easily scared by loud noises and sudden movements. Due to her sensitive nature, she will not do well with children as their activity level would overwhelm her. Sparkle is a little intimidated by larger dogs and prefers to eat when they aren't around, so she would thrive as an only dog or with another small dog. A visible, fenced yard is a must for Sparkle.

Sparkle has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Sparkle is not yet leash trained and will need time, patience, and lots of love to continue building trust. She is fearful of strangers at first but has become very comfortable with her current caregivers in two months. She is quiet and will bark if a stranger approaches the fenced yard, but is otherwise very peaceful. Sparkle loves to be a lap dog and relax while watching TV.
