Meet Lazarus, or "Lazzie" as he's affectionately known by volunteers! This handsome 3-4 year old, 50 lb. black Lab mix is a true sweetheart with a calm, gentle, and quiet demeanor. Lazzie enjoys lounging and cuddling with his canine companions and his people, and he gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. He's even shared his home with a tiny chihuahua and a 70 lb. pittie! Lazzie recently attended an adoption event at a local bar, where he confidently socialized with strangers and made new friends, showing his sweet and gentle nature. He came to us in rough shape, suffering from mange and an upper respiratory infection, having clearly lacked proper care. Found alone and abandoned, Lazzie has made a remarkable recovery and is now a healthy, strong, and strikingly handsome boy.
Ideal Home
Lazzie would love a home where he can continue to cuddle on the bed with his people and other dogs. He has experience with dogs of various sizes and is likely to be a great fit for homes with cats and children as well.

Lazzie is fully vaccinated and neutered.
Training & Support
Lazzie is kennel trained and potty trained. He is a dog who enjoys the company of others and gained confidence at a recent event with his rescue friends, indicating he would benefit from ongoing socialization opportunities.

Lazzie is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and can be arranged to your state or a neighboring state. Pick-up locations may vary, potentially across city, county, or state lines. Transport services operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas. Adopters can track the transport van using the Life360 app and receive updates. Facebook chats are also available for tracking information.
