Meet Cooper! This handsome mixed breed boy is about 3-4 months old and weighs between 16-20 pounds, sporting striking green eyes. Cooper is the epitome of puppy energy, though he's already learned valuable lessons from his canine companions at his foster home, leaving behind puppy behaviors like nipping and humping. He's a playful pup who adores toys and bones, and he gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home, who range from 8 months to 10 years old. Cooper has also shown he can be a good boy around kids during Petco events. However, due to his high prey drive when outdoors, he might not be the best fit for homes with birds, gerbils, or cats. When it's time to relax, Cooper is a champion cuddler, happy to snuggle up with you or his doggy friends. He's made it clear he just wants to be near you, even climbing gates to join you if left in another room. He's not destructive, just social! Evenings are for quiet time, and Cooper will happily settle in to watch TV and cuddle. He sleeps soundly in his crate at night and is a great houseguest, keeping it clean 99% of the time.
Ideal Home
Cooper would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family activities. While he's done well with kids at events, very young children might not be the best match due to his past puppy behaviors. His high prey drive outdoors suggests he wouldn't be a good fit for homes with birds, gerbils, or cats.
Ongoing Health
Cooper is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been dewormed. He's current on flea and tick preventative and microchipped.
Training & Support
Cooper is still learning house-training and will need continued guidance in this area. He already knows "sit" and is very treat-motivated, making him a quick learner for basic obedience. Patience and consistent training will help him continue to flourish.
