Stella

Stella is a wonderful dog who arrived at the Yreka City shelter as a stray on June 7, 2024. She's a non-destructive girl in her kennel, but she does enjoy a good chew on raw beef neck bones and Yak bones. Stella loves to play with a hose and a herding ball, and she's eager to be your next hiking partner, capable of going for long distances!

Ideal Home

Stella would likely do best as the only dog in the home, as she can be selective with other dogs. While she has walked with some of our older dogs here, supervision is recommended, especially as she can be resource-guarding of her handler and her bones. She is learning about cats and does very well with them.

Ongoing Health

Stella is estimated to be 3 1/2 years old as of June 2024. She tested negative for heartworm and is current on preventative medication.

Training & Support

Stella can be resource-guarding of her handler and bones, so continued guidance and management will be beneficial. She comes with a free lesson and lifelong online support to help her continue to thrive.
