Kim is a charming 1-year-old male mix of Border Collie and Labrador, weighing around 32 lbs. He's a sweet, loving, and joyful boy who is always up for an adventure! Kim is incredibly smart and would be a perfect candidate for further training to unlock his full potential. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is also cat-friendly. Kim is leash-trained, crate-trained, and does well on car rides, making him a versatile companion. He was found abandoned at our doorstep and bravely battled and recovered from parvo, proving his resilience.
Ideal Home
Kim would thrive in an active home with families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a fenced backyard. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding that rescued animals require patience and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, as is a high level of tolerance and patience for a rescued pup. Kim is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this.
Ongoing Health
Kim is a parvo survivor and has completed a comprehensive health protocol. This includes a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPi and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and he is on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Kim is not house-trained and will require ongoing support and patience in this area. He needs time to decompress and build trust with new people, as he can be a little timid initially. Adopters should be prepared for an adjustment period and understand that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma. Consistent positive reinforcement and clear guidance will be key to his success.
