Axel Rose

Meet Axel Rose, a handsome Basenji/Terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! Axel is 26lbs and was estimated to be born on April 5, 2024. He's the perfect size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between. This friendly boy loves other dogs of all sizes and enjoys making new canine friends wherever he goes. Axel has a unique way of introducing himself; he likes to talk and will happily let you know he'd love some attention. Once you walk over and say hello, his barks quickly turn into tail wags and affection. He simply wants to be noticed and loved. Axel is potty trained and does well inside the home. One of his favorite activities is relaxing on the couch while watching the world go by through the window. Don't let his laid-back side fool you though; he also loves running zoomies in the backyard and stretching his legs outdoors. Axel's story began when he was discovered abandoned inside an empty apartment. Thankfully, a compassionate foster stepped up and gave him a second chance at life. Despite being left behind, Axel remains incredibly loving, trusting, and ready to find a family who will never leave him again. We don't yet know how Axel feels about cats, but he can be kitty-tested for interested adopters. If you're looking for a sweet, entertaining companion who will keep you smiling and remind you every day how grateful rescued dogs can be, Axel Rose may be the perfect addition to your family.

Ideal Home

Axel would thrive in a home where he can continue to build confidence on walks. He has not been tested with cats, but can be tested for interested adopters.

Axel is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Axel is kennel and potty trained. He is still working on his leash manners and would benefit from a family willing to help him continue building confidence on walks.

Transportation

Axel is located in Houston, Texas, with transport available out of state. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360 and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
