Meet Hutch! 💙

Hutch is a male Australian Shepherd puppy born in March 2026. He currently weighs about 14 pounds and is still growing. Hutch and his brother were found as strays under a porch in rural Central Texas. Given the circumstances surrounding their arrival and reports of other Aussie puppies recently being turned into the same shelter, we suspect these boys may have originated from a backyard breeding situation.

Hutch approaches life with endless enthusiasm! This happy, goofy boy happens to be deaf, but he certainly doesn't think it's a limitation. Hutch takes on every day with confidence, curiosity, and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. He has never met a stranger and quickly makes friends with dogs, kids, and adults alike. Hutch absolutely loves having playmates, whether he's roughhousing with another dog, chasing toys around the yard, or investigating every stick, leaf, and mud puddle he can find. Hutch is always ready for his next adventure, and your landscaping may occasionally receive his "expert" puppy excavation services!

Training & Support

This clever, food-motivated boy is eager to learn. Because he's deaf, he'll thrive with positive reinforcement, hand signals, and a family committed to continuing his training. He takes corrections from other dogs beautifully and is already making great progress with his potty training. Like any young puppy, he'll need consistency and patience as he continues to learn the ropes. At bedtime, Hutch settles into his crate with very few complaints and is happy to recharge for another day of fun.
