Meet Buttercup

Buttercup is a sweet, lovable 2-year-old yellow lab mix who is blossoming into an incredible companion. After coming from a chaotic home in Texas where she lacked structure and training, she has embraced every opportunity to learn—and she's making amazing progress. This affectionate girl loves people, enjoys attention, and still believes she's a lap dog. She has a happy, eager-to-please personality and a heart full of love to give. Buttercup has recently completed training and continues to impress everyone with how much she has learned. She knows commands like sit, stay, down, wait, and come, walks nicely on leash, and has learned to sit politely at doors and gates. She is smart, attentive, and enjoys working with her people. One of Buttercup's biggest accomplishments is how well she has settled into a routine. She is fully housebroken and happily sleeps through the night in her crate from 10 PM to 6 AM. In fact, she loves her crate so much that she often chooses to relax there during the day and can comfortably remain crated for up to eight hours when needed. Buttercup is continuing to work on her dog manners. She can still get excited when she sees other dogs on walks and occasionally pulls toward them, but she is making steady progress. It has become clear that Buttercup genuinely enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with a friendly canine companion. She seems happiest when she has another dog around and would love a buddy to play with and learn from. At around 40 pounds, Buttercup is still filling out and should be closer to 50–55 pounds. With continued love, structure, and good nutrition, she is sure to flourish. Buttercup has come so far and is ready for the next chapter of her life. She is looking for a family who will appreciate her affectionate nature, continue her training journey, and give her the stability and companionship she deserves. In return, she'll reward them with endless loyalty, cuddles, and love. Buttercup will be a wonderful addition to most families. Her adoption donation is $500.
