Lana is a beautiful pittie girl who is yearning to belong to someone. Likely abandoned, she was picked up as a "stray" and landed in an overcrowded shelter back in early October. She was severely underweight at 45 lbs. Being at the shelter was scary and stressful for her, and her anxiety was understandably high. She was miserable and scheduled to be euthanized. But then her luck changed when someone offered to foster her, and she blossomed in a home environment. She was playful, easygoing, and affectionate, often seeking attention and enjoying time close to her people. She loved going on walks and was comfortable around adults and strangers. Lana was potty trained and followed a consistent routine. Her foster discovered that she knows basic commands, including "sit," "lie down," and "kennel." She responded well to her name and enjoyed all types of toys. She balanced play time with rest time and started working on leash reactivity around other dogs. Her personality shined, and she thought she finally belonged. Sadly, due to no fault of her own, Lana's world was turned upside down again when, due to personal reasons, her foster suddenly had to bring her back to the shelter. The poor sweet girl was confused and heartbroken. She was once again put on the euthanasia list. Thanks to caring volunteers and networkers, Lana's life has once again been spared. She's now available for adoption. She has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped. She's current on monthly preventions. She's at a healthy weight now at 70 lbs, and she's estimated to be 5 years of age. Lana is still hoping to belong to someone who will never leave her. She has so much love to give in return. Please share her story to help us find the loving forever home Lana so deserves.
