Meet Spot, an 8-month-old Labrador Retriever mix who is as loving as he is playful! Spot is neutered, fully vaccinated, and brimming with the enthusiastic energy of a young pup ready to explore the world. He's a curious and smart boy who is always up for an adventure, whether it's a game of fetch or a cozy snuggle session.
Spot is a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He enjoys interactive play like tug-of-war and is respectful of his canine companions, knowing when to dial it back. He would do best with dogs his own size or larger, ideally a canine sibling with a similar energy level to be his playmate.
He's a well-behaved housemate, fully house-trained and crate-trained. Spot is also comfortable being left to roam freely, as he has no destructive habits. He shares his current home peacefully with four cats and enjoys their company, so a home with dog-savvy cats would be a great fit. While he can be a bit protective of his toys, he is fed separately to prevent any issues, and he has not shown any signs of resource guarding.
Spot's favorite pastimes include playing with his toys and enjoying long-lasting chews. He’s an affectionate dog who loves to explore his surroundings before settling down for some quality time with his people. He has a charming quirk of doing a dramatic somersault onto his bed after outdoor playtime!
On leash, Spot can get a bit excited when he sees other dogs, which can lead to pulling. Slow introductions and ongoing training, particularly with a gentle leader, are recommended. He's also a little jumpy when meeting new people, but it's purely out of excitement.
Ideal Home
Spot would thrive in an active home that can provide plenty of walks, hikes, and mental enrichment. An ideal home would have a backyard where he can run and play freely. He's expected to do well with dog-savvy children.
Ongoing Health
Spot is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Training & Support
Spot is house-trained and crate-trained. He will benefit from continued leash training to manage excitement when seeing other dogs and to curb jumpiness when meeting new people. An active family committed to ongoing training will help him succeed.
