Oh. My. Goodness! I am so thankful to have been rescued! I'm Darnell, which means 'hidden spot', and that's pretty much where I was found. . . hiding under a barn, scared and lonely. I'm about a year old and weigh about 30 pounds, and I'm loving this cushy lifestyle where I have a soft bed, food, and kind people. But I really want my very own family. . . for keeps.

Ideal Home

I'm looking for a family who can offer me a home with a secure, privacy-fenced yard and plenty of time and patience to help me learn all the things I need to know to be a real family member. Older, respectful children are fine, but the energy of younger kids would be too much for me. I get along with friendly dogs my size and dog-savvy cats.

Ongoing Health

My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip.

Training & Support

House and crate training are coming along nicely, and I'm actually not bad on my leash after the initial excitement. Young dogs need a lot of attention, so please make sure you have the time, energy, and commitment to devote to my training. Everyone in your household should be on board and ready to help out. I am not an outdoor-only dog.

Transporation

I am located in Springfield, MO. We do adopt out of state with vet references and a video home check. The adopter is responsible for coming to get me and returning me if the adoption does not work out.
