Toadstool is the kind of puppy who wakes up every morning ready to enthusiastically join whatever adventure is happening and make it better! A hike, a coffee run, a training class, or simply following you from room to room with his happy little bounce – he is going to bring the joy! At an estimated 8 months old, he is still very much a growing puppy with those classic, lanky legs his body is trying to catch up with. Underneath it all, Toadstool is an incredibly sweet, balanced, and genuinely good-natured dog. We suspect he may be a pittie/lab mix, but rescue rules apply, so breed and age are simply our best guess.
From the moment we met Toadstool he impressed everyone with how confident and social he is despite being in a new place full of new people. He loves attention, enjoys meeting new people, and approaches both dogs and new environments with a calm, easygoing attitude. He shares toys nicely, handles corrections well, and shows really lovely social skills with other dogs of all sizes. He is the kind of puppy who was born happy and is naturally sweet and optimistic about life.
He is medium-high energy in the fun, outdoorsy-companion sort of way, not the nonstop chaos machine way. He would thrive with an active adopter who wants a dog to include in daily life and continue training with. Toadstool is smart, treat motivated, eager to learn, and very responsive to guidance. Like most young pups, he can get a little jumpy and enthusiastic when excited, but it's gentle and thoughtful – no parkour action here – but like with any growing puppy, continued structure and consistency will help him grow into an extra wonderful adult dog.
Ideal Home
Toadstool is well-suited for a wide variety of homes and could do well with another social dog, dog-savvy cats, and kids who are comfortable around an active puppy who will absolutely want to be part of the fun. Apartment life could work for him with enough exercise and outings, though we think he would especially enjoy a home where he has room to stretch his legs and tag along on adventures.
Ongoing Health
Toadstool's adoption fee includes all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.
