ANGUS-Big Puppy

Angus is a big, goofy puppy looking for his forever home! He's a Bullmastiff mix who is about 6 months old and already weighs over 60 pounds, so he's going to be a large dog when fully grown. Angus was found wandering near a local creek and brought to the Hico Animal Shelter, but he's now vetted and ready to find a loving family. He's a playful pup who's still learning his manners, like walking on a leash without getting too tangled. Angus enjoys chewing, so providing him with plenty of appropriate chew toys will be key. He's eager to play with other dogs but is still learning how to do so gently due to his size. He's a bit too enthusiastic for cats.

Ideal Home

Angus would thrive in an active household with older children. A well-fenced yard is a must for this energetic boy. He is not a good fit for a home with cats.

Ongoing Health

Angus is neutered and up-to-date on all his vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella. He is heartworm negative and is on preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. He is also microchipped.

Training & Support

Angus is doggie door trained, but his housebreaking status is still being confirmed. He is still learning to walk on leash and can be a bit chaotic, enjoying chewing on it. He also needs to be properly restrained when riding in vehicles due to his size and puppy exuberance. Continued training and patience will be essential as he grows.
