Meet Trout!
This handsome guy somehow found himself on the euthanasia list at our local shelter. Thankfully, his amazing foster mom saw his plea for help and offered to foster, saving his life. We're all lucky because Trout is pretty darn special. If you just looked at a picture of Trout, you'd probably assume he's some high-energy athlete who needs to run a marathon before breakfast, but you'd be wrong. He is shockingly chill! Sure, he'll happily join you for a hike, a walk around the neighborhood, or a good romp with his dog friends, but once the adventures are over, his favorite activity is flopping upside down on the couch with all four paws straight up in the air. Peak relaxation mode activated.
Trout can be a little shy when he first meets new people. He's clearly been through a lot in his short life, so he likes a few minutes to figure you out. Give him a little time, though, and you'll have a loyal buddy for life. He's kennel trained, potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and even knows how to do a very good boy sit. He gets along great with all of his foster fur siblings, big and small, and he's a fan of humans too.
Ideal Home
Trout's dream forever home is one that will include him in life's adventures. His name is Trout, after all. Could camping trips, fishing weekends, and lazy evenings by the fire be in his future? We sure hope so. The only thing to note is that he gets a little too interested in squirrels and cats on walks, so we're not totally sure how he'd feel about sharing his forever home with a feline roommate.
Ongoing Health
Trout is currently going through heartworm treatment and will be ready to transport to his forever home in mid-to-late July. He is fully vetted, neutered, and current on preventatives.
Training & Support
He's kennel trained, potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and even knows how to do a very good boy sit. Trout absolutely despises taking medicine. Hide it in cheese? Nice try. Wrap it in deli meat? Amateur move. Peanut butter? He's onto you. Mr. Smarty Pants will somehow locate the pill and spit it out with impressive accuracy every single time.
