GRACIE

Gracie is a lovely young female Labrador Retriever mix who is looking for a patient and caring home to complete her heartworm treatment. She's currently in the shelter's Foster-to-Adopt program, which means she can begin her recovery in a home environment rather than staying in the shelter. The shelter will provide all necessary food, medication, and veterinary care throughout her treatment. Once her treatment is successfully completed, you'll be able to finalize her adoption and welcome her permanently into your family!

Ideal Home

Gracie needs a quiet home where she can rest and recover from her heartworm treatment. This means no rough housing or playing too hard with people or other pets. She must be kept on a leash at all times when outside and should only go for short, 15-minute walks, three to four times a day. Once her treatment is complete, she'll be ready to run, play, and be her silly self again!

Ongoing Health

Gracie is currently being treated for heartworm disease. The treatment process can take a few months. She will need to be brought to the shelter for veterinary check-ups as needed during this time.

Training & Support

Gracie requires a quiet environment to avoid complications from her heartworm treatment. This includes limiting strenuous activity and ensuring she is always on a leash when outdoors. The shelter staff is available to answer any questions you may have about heartworm treatment and care.
