Sandy is the canine equivalent of that deep inhale and exhale after a long, hard day. Gentle and thoughtful, she’s a dog you might not notice in a room full of others, but once you connect with her, you’ll find her quiet company and peaceful presence incredibly grounding. She’s fostered in a loving home where she has shown us she appreciates a quieter, calmer lifestyle and settles in beautifully when given the chance to take things at her own pace. Sandy’s approach to love is slow and steady; she takes her time getting to know new people and prefers not to be rushed into affection. She is not reactive or pushy, simply needing a little space in the beginning to observe and understand her surroundings. Once she feels safe, she begins to choose you, sitting a little closer, following you from room to room, and quietly being there. The connection she forms is deeply loyal and genuinely heartwarming. Sandy may not be in your lap on day one, but she becomes your shadow in the most comforting, easy way once she trusts you.
Ideal Home
Sandy would do best in a home that values a slower pace and can provide a calm environment where she can continue to grow in confidence without pressure. She enjoys walks, which are a great way to build a relationship with her.
Ongoing Health
Sandy is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. She has also had a heartworm test.
Training & Support
Sandy is polite and respectful with other dogs and has been respectfully avoidant with cats. She is not busy or demanding and seems to coexist nicely with other pets.

Transporation
Sandy is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. This includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
