JJ Ryder is a solid, athletic, and loyal companion who is always up for an adventure and just as happy to relax afterward. This handsome fellow is around 4 years old and weighs about 75 lbs. JJ thrives on long hikes, fetch, swimming, and boat rides, and he's always ready for a tennis ball. When the day's activities are done, he's content to snuggle on the couch or quietly observe. He bonds quickly with men and responds well to calm, confident leadership. JJ is smart, knows many commands, is gentle-lead trained, and comes when called. He's been fostering with a couple and is very attached to the man of the house, often waiting patiently for him to return. JJ is unfazed by loud noises like trucks, motorcycles, thunder, or fireworks. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and can be trusted to free-roam. He's respectful, not destructive, doesn't resource guard, and sleeps soundly through the night. JJ is affectionate without being pushy and loyal without being clingy, making him a truly wonderful dog.
Ideal Home
JJ would do well as a single companion or with another dog, having previously lived happily with a large male Lab and a playful small dog. He's best suited for an adult home or one with calm older teenagers. Due to his prey drive, a home without cats is ideal.
Ongoing Health
JJ is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and has been spayed/neutered.
Training & Support
JJ is a well-behaved dog who is fully potty and crate trained. He is respectful of space, not destructive, and does not resource guard. He is gentle-lead trained and comes when called.

Transporation
JJ is currently in Texas and can be transported to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, and Canada. Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT. Transport is available via USDA licensed vehicles with 24/7 care. An additional $87 surcharge for transport will apply.
