Nicholas aka Ray Charles

Nicholas, affectionately known as Ray Charles, is a charming and intelligent 73-lb Carolina Dog. Around 9 years young, this sweet boy navigates the world with a spirit that doesn't let blindness slow him down one bit! In fact, he's known for his independent streak, preferring to figure things out on his own, thanks to his excellent sense of smell. Nick is a friendly fellow who enjoys the company of other dogs after proper introductions, showing a particular fondness for his female canine friends. He's also curious and gets along well with resident cats.

A securely fenced yard is a must to keep Nick safe as he explores.

Nick is up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Nick is house-trained and crate-trained. He is a strong puller on leash, especially when excited by interesting smells or greetings with other dogs, so an adopter with the strength and confidence to manage him on walks is needed. He recently enjoyed doggie daycare and did very well!

Nick is in Indianapolis and adoptions are limited to within 50 miles of the city. All pets are in volunteer foster homes.
