About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix, currently weighing 45 lbs and estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She's a delightful blend of curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining, with a quirky charm that brings laughter daily. Coraline's favorite game is peek-a-boo, and she'll joyfully zoom around when you join in. She's deeply people-oriented and loves to be by your side, following you around the house like a shadow, though she's not overly clingy. Affectionate in subtle ways, she offers sweet puppy kisses and gentle paw rests. Coraline has a remarkably calm and balanced temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home companion, content to entertain herself quietly. She's also incredibly social with people and other dogs, greeting new friends calmly before continuing her play. Coraline is the best of both worlds: playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, goofy yet intuitive – your perfect sidekick, shadow, and best friend.
Ideal Home
Coraline thrives on a mix of adventure and relaxation, enjoying leisurely walks, hikes, patio outings, and cozy evenings on the couch. She loves being included in her family's daily routines and would be happiest with a fenced yard for playtime. Given her size and occasional nervousness in busy areas, she would not do well in apartments or condos. She needs a home with another friendly, confident dog, as she thrives with canine companionship. Coraline would also do well with older children and could adjust to a home with a cat, provided the cat is dog-friendly and has prior experience with dogs. She needs her human to be home more often than not, though a few days a week at doggy daycare would be acceptable. Coraline's ideal family will cherish her unique personality and spend quality time with her.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has had a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary veterinary care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still mastering leash training and benefits from positive reinforcement and rewards to build confidence during walks. She is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with encouragement. She alerts her foster to her potty needs by pacing at the back door or using a doggy door. Consistent potty breaks every 3-4 hours are recommended initially to establish a routine in her new home. A doggy doorbell can be helpful if a doggy door is not available.
