Big Red is a resilient and hopeful 6-year-old, approximately 65-pound canine companion. Despite a difficult past, he has never lost faith in the possibility of a brighter future. When he first arrived, Big Red was understandably sensitive about his back legs being touched, a likely consequence of a past life spent in a confined space. Through patient, gentle care and unwavering kindness, he has learned to trust people and now readily accepts affection and handling. Big Red thrives on human connection and forms deep, loyal bonds with those who earn his trust. He flourishes with a calm, patient person who understands that some dogs simply need a little extra time to feel secure. Once his heart is open, his devotion is unwavering.

Ideal Home

Big Red dreams of a home with a secure backyard where he can stretch his legs, explore, and revel in the freedom every dog deserves. Due to his past experiences, he would do best in a home without small children. His perfect environment would be with a single person, a couple, or a calm family that can offer consistency, understanding, and abundant love.
