About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. Her personality is a delightful blend of sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining. She has a charming quirkiness that brings laughter to her foster family daily, especially with her love for peek-a-boo. Coraline is deeply people-oriented and loves to be close to her humans, following them around like a gentle shadow without being overly demanding. She shows affection through sweet puppy kisses and gentle touches. Coraline possesses a calm and balanced temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home companion. She's content entertaining herself with toys or a chew bone. She's also very social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before engaging in play or exploration. Coraline is the perfect mix of playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – your future best friend and sidekick.
Ideal Home
Coraline is a low to medium energy pup who enjoys short bursts of play. She would thrive in a home that balances adventure with relaxation, enjoying leisurely walks, hikes, patio outings, or cozy evenings on the couch. She loves being involved in her family's daily routine and is happy with short walks and backyard play sessions, but will happily join longer adventures. Puzzle toys and chew toys will keep her entertained. She would benefit from a home where she can gain more confidence in busy public areas with continued exposure and socialization. She would absolutely adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. A fenced yard is a must for her to run and play. No apartments or condos due to her size and potential nervousness in busy areas. She needs to have her human home more often than not, but would do well with doggy daycare a few days a week.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is currently working on leash training and needs additional practice to build confidence on walks. She is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has had any necessary veterinary care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and will alert her foster family when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door. She can also use a dog door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially to establish a consistent schedule. She is learning leash manners and is treat-motivated. She needs additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills.
