Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, and it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart, and independent, and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I came from a high kill shelter with no hope. Now I EXUDE hope! And LOVE!

Ideal Home

I would do best in an only dog home because I want all the attention. I love my people and tend to take "control" of my home, so I need a strong leader owner who will be willing to not let me meet everyone who visits, as I want to protect my home a little too much. I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how I am doing.

Ongoing Health

I was heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am negative. I just need to stay on prevention for the rest of my life.

Training & Support

I can be stubborn and independent, so I need a strong leader owner. I also need an owner willing to manage my protective tendencies towards visitors.
