Zora is the kind of dog who makes a house feel softer just by being in it, side of giggles included as she can usually be found proudly carrying a toy around giving it a bit of a house tour. Because Zora is fostered in a loving home we know so much about who she is at home- which is hands down her favorite place to be. Her fosters praise her for being gentle, sweet, and quietly charming. One of many cute things she does is the way she will ask for affection. Her foster shared- it starts with a little nose nudge and a calm, "excuse me, pets please" presence that's delivered with her warm eyes staring at you sweetly. And if you're into adorable home quirks, Zora also likes to drag blankets and random items around the house like she's casually redecorating. Though we cannot guarantee age or breed given Zora is a rescue, we estimate she is 5-7 years old, she weighs 64lbs, and is likely a german shepherd mix. Zora is a homebody at heart who likes calm routines friendly dog company, and a soft place to land. She can be nervous when meeting new people, especially out in public, but she does better when folks are sitting down and letting her approach at her own pace. Once she decides you're safe, she'll show you that signature move- a sweet tail wag, a gentle paw, and the most polite little nose nudge. Works like a charm every time. She's not a big cuddler, but she absolutely enjoys love and will happily request it on her terms. At home, she's the good kind of easy: quiet in her crate, house-trained with zero indoor accidents, not destructive, and loves chew toys, stuffies, ropes, and yes... house shoes (her favorite "treasure").
Ideal Home
Zora's ideal home would be a single-level home with minimal or no stairs, so her hips can keep young. She does well with normal activity in the home and genuinely enjoys other dogs' company, so she'd love a home with a playful doggie friend where things feel steady, friendly, and routine-based. Zora can be nervous meeting new people, but she warms up pretty quickly, especially when people are sitting down and she can approach at her own pace. She's more comfortable meeting guests in the home than in public, which makes her a great match for someone who prefers cozy home life over constant outings. Zora is afraid of vacuums and occasionally strangers, so she'll do best with a patient, gentle approach that lets her build trust at her own pace.

Training & Support
Zora is house-trained with zero indoor accidents and has never chewed on furniture. She prefers to potty outside on grass and can go 8+ hours without an accident. She is crate-trained and quiet in her crate. She is used to walking on a leash. Zora does give a little grumble if another dog tries to take her toy, but this is described as "all bark and no bite."

Zora is currently in Texas. Transportation is available nationwide through our USDA certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
