Meet Rusty! (case #16011)

Rusty is an adorable Boxer mix puppy who is almost 4 months old and is ready to find a family of his own! He arrived at the shelter as a stray and, unfortunately, was never claimed. Despite his rough start, Rusty has proven to be a friendly, social, and affectionate young pup who simply loves being close to his people.

Ideal Home

Rusty is looking for a family that understands the commitment involved in raising a well-rounded canine companion. We expect Rusty to mature into a large breed, so his future family should be prepared to provide him with lots of daily exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation to keep him happy and healthy.

Ongoing Health

Rusty has an appointment to be neutered on July 23rd. He will be ready to go to his forever home after this surgery.

Training & Support

As a growing puppy, Rusty will need continued house training, crate training, positive reinforcement-based obedience training, and plenty of opportunities to socialize at his own pace. These early experiences will help him grow into a confident and well-mannered adult dog. Rusty has recently moved into a foster home after being quite vocal while in the shelter kennels. We often see puppies settle and show their true personalities once they're in a home environment, and his foster family will be able to provide valuable insight into his behavior and personality as they get to know him.
