Meet Brie! This approximately 3-year-old, 60+ pound livestock guardian breed beauty has overcome a rough start in life and emerged as a truly stunning and devoted companion. Despite arriving at a shelter in poor condition, Brie's spirit never wavered. With dedicated care and time, her coat has regrown, revealing the gorgeous girl she is. Brie is an independent thinker, loyal, and protective, preferring to assess new people at her own pace before offering her trust. Once she bonds with you, you'll have a lifelong, devoted friend.
Ideal Home
Brie would thrive in a home with an experienced livestock guardian breed owner or someone eager to learn about this special breed. A securely fenced yard is essential for her to safely enjoy the outdoors while still being an integral part of the family. She is looking for a home, not an outdoor-only environment, and wants to be included in family activities, enjoying both indoor snuggles and outdoor adventures. Due to her cautious nature with new individuals and her breed's protective instincts, a home with older children who understand respectful dog interactions would be best. While she has done well with other dogs with slow introductions, placing her as an only pet would be ideal, especially for out-of-state adopters who cannot meet resident dogs beforehand. She has not been tested with cats.
Ongoing Health
Brie has fully recovered from heartworm and her skin condition. She will be spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations.
Training & Support
Brie is adjusting to indoor living and has shown great promise by keeping her kennel space clean and respecting her bedding. With patience and consistency, she is expected to transition beautifully into a home environment. While she hasn't shown significant behavioral issues, understanding the independent nature of livestock guardian breeds will be key to her success.

Transportation
Brie is currently located in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. We offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. The adoption fee includes transport to the city where this listing is based, with transports occurring every 2-3 weeks. We are unable to adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
