About Larry the Snail (Benefactor Dog)

Meet Larry the Snail: Your Future Grumpy-but-Sweet Best Friend! Sometimes the best things in life take a little time to come out of their shell-or in this case, his scruffy exterior! Meet Larry the Snail, a 6-year-old Brussels Griffon/Shih Tzu mix who weighs 13 lbs and is looking for his forever home. Larry certainly knows how to make an entrance! He was spotted roaming onto a family's property while they were out for a walk with their own dog. Though he initially seemed a bit "spicy" and was hesitant to approach humans, he couldn't resist the urge to play with the family dog. It took a little patience and gentle coaxing to bring this wary guy to safety, where he earned the fitting name, "Larry the Snail." While Larry was understandably a bit grumpy when he first arrived-likely because his coat is currently matted and uncomfortable-he is already a transformation in progress. He is scheduled for a professional grooming session very soon, and we know that once those painful mats are gone, he is going to feel like a brand-new man! Now that he is in a loving foster home, the "grumpy" mask is already starting to slip away to reveal a much softer, more gentle side. He is learning that humans can be pretty great, and we are confident that once he's feeling comfortable in his skin again, he will blossom into the ultimate lovable nugget. Larry is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and ready to find a soft place to land. He is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will give him the time he needs to continue decompressing. In return, he promises to provide plenty of laughs, loyal companionship, and a whole lot of love. You really can't help but smile at that classic, grumpy-cute mug of his! Are you the special person who can help Larry leave his "snail" days behind?
