Reagan is a one-year-old, 105-pound Anatolian Shepherd mix with a heart full of potential! He came to us from a large hoarding situation where he and many other dogs were overlooked by their elderly owners. While they were fed and kept reasonably clean, these pups missed out on crucial socialization and everyday home experiences. Reagan, however, has emerged as one of the most confident dogs from the group, showing a surprisingly good attitude and a strong desire to learn.
He's a sweet, friendly giant who's eager to understand household routines and the quirky inventions humans call "normal." Reagan isn't a shut-down dog, and he's not a "project" in the daunting sense. He's simply a young, under-socialized gentle giant who needs a patient, structured, and common-sense approach. He's already ahead of the curve in learning to be a house dog, and his temperament promises a bright future. Give him consistency, kindness, and a little time, and he'll blossom into a loyal, steady, and deeply bonded companion.
Ideal Home
A confident and friendly dog in the home would be a great companion for Reagan, though he's not as dependent on this as some of his fellow rescues. He's good with other dogs and cats. Due to his size and ongoing learning process, we recommend a home with children over 10 years old. As he will easily exceed 100 pounds, his adopter must be prepared for a large livestock guardian breed with presence, opinions, and a healthy dose of independent judgment. A securely fenced yard is a must.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are noted in his listing.
Training & Support
Reagan is still learning about household routines and new experiences. Patience, structure, and kindness will be key to his continued development.
