Buffalo

Buffalo is a handsome boy who absolutely adores water! While a refreshing dip revealed some skin and fur issues, we're happy to report that Buffalo is otherwise a wonderful companion. He knows his commands, is comfortable with being handled, and greets everyone with a wagging tail. He's got a lot of love to give and is ready to find his forever family.

Ideal Home

Buffalo is looking for a home where he can splash around and be showered with affection.

Ongoing Health

Buffalo has some skin and fur issues, particularly on his bum, which indicate a past infection. This doesn't happen overnight, so he'll need a loving home that can continue to care for his skin and fur needs.

Training & Support

Buffalo is a smart cookie who already knows commands and enjoys human interaction. He'll benefit from continued positive reinforcement and a consistent routine.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• All household members, especially those under 18 and any decision-makers, should be present to meet Buffalo.
• We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.

Transporation

Buffalo is located at Chicago Animal Care and Control at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.
