Mariah

Good girl Mariah is back and ever-more-ready for some lucky adopters to scoop her up and make her part of their home! Mariah was one of the lucky dogs who participated in our new Enduring Service program! This program pairs a shelter dog with inmates at the Travis State Jail to complete a 12-week basic training course, and she was a rockstar there!Mariah is a sweet, intelligent pup with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. She's friendly with everyone she meets and, after a little time to adjust, does well with most other dogs too. Mariah isn't shy about saying hello, she'll happily walk right up for pets and attention! She already knows several commands, including sit, down, stay, paw (both hands!), and touch, and she even has a cute "bang bang" trick. Like many smart dogs, she's especially motivated when treats are involved. She's potty trained and mostly kennel trained, making her a great fit for a home ready to continue reinforcing her good habits. Mariah truly shines when she's outside. She loves having space to run and play, and she does especially well off-leash in a secure area. A home with a big yard would be ideal for her active, playful nature. She tends to stay close and doesn't wander off, making her a wonderful companion for outdoor time. During playtime, Mariah can get a little excited with her toys, so gentle guidance or a quick distraction can help keep things calm and fun for everyone. With her loving personality and joyful spirit, Mariah is sure to bring happiness and companionship to any home lucky enough to have her.
