Rex is a male Cattle Dog mix who is approximately 3 years old and weighs around 35 lbs. He was rescued as a 2-month-old puppy and has spent his time growing up in a shelter, patiently waiting for his forever family. Rex is a joyful, playful, and energetic boy who truly loves life. He's not overly clingy but is very sweet and enjoys being near his people in his own gentle way. He has a fun personality and is always ready for a good play session, exploration, or new adventure. Rex is social and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and people. He's also intelligent and eager to learn, walks well on a leash, and is crate trained. His mom was rescued from the streets and gave birth to Rex and his eight siblings. All of his siblings have found their homes, but Rex is still waiting. He's ready for a family that can provide him with structure, patience, love, and the active lifestyle he craves.
Ideal Home
Rex would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard. He needs a family willing to give a rescued pet at least three months to show their best personality and who understands the needs of rescued street animals, including their need for protection and education. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, as well as high tolerance and patience for rescued pups, are ideal.
Ongoing Health
Rex has undergone extensive health protocols, including being neutered, vaccinated for DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. He is on monthly preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm (Nexgard Spectra). He comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Rex is not house-trained. He will need patience and consistency in this area. He needs a family that can provide him with structure and education.
