About Brady

Brady arrived in rescue with his brother, Tebow, after Hurricane Idalia swept through our area. A kind woman found them in her yard and tried to locate their owners, but her efforts were unsuccessful. Unable to keep them long-term, she reached out to us for help. We took them in, hoping to reunite them with their family, but after a month, no owner came forward. After being vetted, these handsome boys are now ready to find their forever homes. We believe they are around 7 months old, definitely under a year, and appear to be Shepherd mixes with a strong Shepherd presence.

Brady is the shyer and more timid of the two brothers, often looking to Tebow for reassurance. However, with a little time and positive reinforcement, he's sure to blossom. He would benefit from opportunities to socialize and build his confidence. Given their young age, Brady and Tebow should adapt well to most family situations. They seem to be good with children and other dogs, though proper introductions are always important. We haven't had the chance to test them with cats or other small animals.

Ideal Home

Brady would thrive in a home where he can gain confidence and learn the ropes. A patient and understanding family that can help him socialize and build his confidence would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Brady was found to have erlichiosis, a tick-borne disease. No treatment is currently necessary, but he will likely always test positive. He has been started on monthly Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and flea control. He was also treated for hookworms, whipworms, roundworms, and coccidia. Overall, Brady is in good health, and any issues are minor and treatable. He weighed 51.7 pounds as of 10/18/23.

Training & Support

Brady is still learning to walk well on a leash and may benefit from a harness. He is a bit hesitant but responds well to encouragement. Like most young dogs, he will likely need some house training and general manners training.
