DOUGAL

Dougal is a delightful approximately 2-year-old, 75 lb Sheepadoodle who is as handsome as he is sweet. He's an easy-going, laid-back fellow who gets along wonderfully with other rescue dogs, often being so unobtrusive that his foster family barely knows he's around! Dougal isn't a fan of the midday heat and prefers to relax indoors in the air conditioning. However, as the day cools down, he loves to head outside to play with his canine pals, enjoy a chew treat, and enthusiastically chase squirrels. He appears to be well-house trained and leash-trained, though he does tend to pull and would benefit from a confident handler.

Ideal Home

Dougal needs a securely fenced yard to safely explore and play. Homes with children under the age of 8 are not a good fit for Dougal.

Ongoing Health

Dougal previously tested positive for heartworms and has completed his treatment according to the American Heartworm Society protocols. Follow-up testing in 4-6 months is typically recommended to confirm he is negative.

Training & Support

Dougal seems to be well-house and leash trained, but he does pull on the leash and will need continued guidance and a strong hand.
