Huey Loves Hugs

Huey is a handsome, athletic, and affectionate 2-year-old who we suspect is a Labrador mix. This 56 lb bundle of energy has expressive ears that don't miss a thing and legs built for adventure. He's mastered house training and crate training in his foster home, and he's a master of quiet companionship, often following his people like a shadow. Huey is incredibly smart, motivated, and thrives with confident leadership and clear boundaries.

Ideal Home

Huey would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play to his heart's content. Apartment living is not for him, as he prefers not to have multiple daily leash walks in busy areas. While he's enjoyed living with children in the past and is a fantastic playmate, long-term living with kids is not ideal for him. He can be a great companion for visiting children, but he prefers a peaceful home environment for his daily life.

Ongoing Health

Huey has no known ongoing health conditions. He has received all age-appropriate vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm preventatives, and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Huey is house-trained and crate-trained. He responds well to confident leadership and boundaries. He does exhibit resource guarding around food with other dogs. This is easily managed by feeding him separately (e.g., in his crate) and not offering treats or table food to any dogs. A single-dog household would also eliminate this potential issue.

Huey is located in Texas and can be transported to various locations across the US. We offer transport to NV, MT, CO, UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and the East Coast. Transportation is available via USDA licensed semi-truck or a private van/bus, with detailed tracking and communication throughout the journey. We can help you find the closest pickup location.
