Meet Gracie Mae!
This charming five-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix is a gentle soul with a warm heart, ready to fill your home with companionship. Weighing in at about 40 pounds, Gracie Mae is a curious and affectionate girl who thrives on routine and structure. She adores her sturdy Benebones and stuffy toys, and a good game of fetch is sure to bring out her playful spirit. When playtime is over, she’s happiest snuggling up close, sharing quiet moments with her favorite people.
Gracie Mae has grown up in a busy household and has shown patience and calm around children, including a neurodivergent child. She’s comfortable with the energy of family life and adjusts well to everyday sounds. She has also lived successfully with another dog and is generally friendly with people. While her experience with cats is limited, and her hound instincts might lead her to chase small animals on walks, thoughtful introductions and attentive guidance will help her adjust. Gracie Mae knows commands like "sit" and responds well to positive reinforcement. She’s crate-trained and can rest comfortably during the day, but her greatest joy comes from sharing her day with her humans.
Ideal Home
Gracie Mae would thrive in a caring environment where someone is home much of the time to keep her engaged with play, walks, and connection.
Ongoing Health
Gracie Mae is up to date on vaccinations, is spayed, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Gracie Mae has learned to go potty outside and understands the “go potty” command, but she is also accustomed to using pee pads indoors. Outdoor sounds and distractions can sometimes make her feel uncertain, and she does not currently signal when she needs to go outside. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement training, her routines can continue to improve. She sometimes feels unsure about delivery drivers or unfamiliar visitors and benefits from gentle introductions.
