Meet Liberty!

Liberty is an 8-week-old Lab/Border Collie mix puppy who came to us as an owner surrender. She is just beginning to learn about the world and will need plenty of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as she grows.

Ideal Home

Liberty will thrive in a home committed to taking a puppy obedience class to get started on the right foot. She'll need a family that can commit to continued proper socialization and house-training, which requires patience and persistence with a schedule. Puppies need to be taken outside frequently, as often as every 3 to 4 hours in the beginning. An ideal home would be one where she won't spend long periods alone during the first few months, giving her the best chance at successful house-training.

Ongoing Health

Liberty will be adopted out on a spay/neuter contract. Her adoptive family will sign a contract stating she will be spayed/neutered by the time she is 9 months old. Families will be required to bring her back to Safe Haven for us to spay/neuter when she is between 6 to 9 months old, at no additional cost. Alternatively, families can have the surgery done with their own veterinarian at their own cost and provide proof of the surgery once complete.

Training & Support

Liberty is not yet house-trained and doesn't know basic commands. She will need a lot of patience and positive reinforcement to learn.
