Mildred

Millie is a shy, sweet senior girl who is slowly gaining confidence with the help of her dog siblings. She has fully embraced the comforts of home, enjoying cozy dog beds and couch naps. Millie follows her canine companions in and out of the yard to do her business and happily explores the world through her beagle nose, sniffing every interesting scent. She absolutely adores treats and will approach her foster mom when one is offered. Millie has also discovered her beagle voice, letting her foster mom know when breakfast is taking too long and joyfully "talking" to outside noises. She will need continued time and patience to fully trust her human, but she will reward you with loyal companionship, snoozing near you on the couch, and enjoying naps between trips to the yard and rolling in sunny grass spots, ideally with a dog sibling or two.

Ideal Home

Millie is shy and easily spooked, so she would prefer a calm home without children. She gains great comfort from other dogs and would love to have dog siblings.

Ongoing Health

Millie is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm preventative, and flea/tick preventative.

Training & Support

Millie is doing well with her house-training, primarily using the fenced yard for her business, with occasional use of a pee pad at night. She dislikes being crated and can be trusted to roam freely in the house. While she is learning to be comfortable in a home, being held or touched can still be scary for her.

• The adoption fee is $475.
• Included in the adoption fee: Spay/Neuter, first 3 distemper series vaccines and de-wormings, microchip with lifetime no registration fees, current on heartworm preventative, and current on flea/tick preventative.
• Adopters receive a free first exam with select veterinarians and a free online workshop with a professional dog trainer.
• A portion of every adoption fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities.

Mildred is in a foster home and transportation arrangements can be discussed.
