Ritchey Roo, affectionately known as Richard, is a delightful 5-6 year old canine who embodies the spirit of a best friend. He's a unique blend of laid-back charm and exuberant energy, always ready to share his happiness. Richard thrives on human companionship and loves nothing more than to lounge by your side, whether indoors or out. He's house-trained and comfortable being left alone, making him a great addition to many homes.
While Richard can be a quiet couch potato, he also has a joyful and energetic side that emerges with enthusiasm, especially when a leash or the door signifies an adventure. He can be incredibly gentle but also expresses his excitement with enthusiastic jumping, particularly when food or walks are involved. Richard also has a charming vocal side, often with humorous commentary.
Richard currently weighs around 90 lbs and would benefit from a diet and increased physical activity. He enjoys sleeping in bed with his humans and has even learned the "OVER" command to create a little personal space! He's not particularly interested in toys or fetch but loves car rides and walks, though he does require leash training as he can be a strong puller. Ultimately, Richard is content with lounging and enjoying his yard.
Ritchey has adapted well to various environments, including foster homes and boarding facilities, where he's a favorite for his easy-going nature and good company. While his interactions with other dogs are not fully known, he has shown indifference to a senior dog and friendliness through fences. However, due to his overwhelming excitement, he has been excluded from daycare. Given his history, we believe Richard would be happiest as the sole, spoiled pup in a loving home. He's a lovable boy who will undoubtedly be a fabulous companion for the right person or people.
