Maya

Maya is a sweet, approximately 1-year-old female Labrador mix weighing around 30 lbs. She's an energetic, playful, and intelligent pup who was rescued in March 2024, having been found in a field with her siblings. Maya is very sociable and affectionate, enjoying walks, playtime, and cuddles. While she can be a little shy at first with new people, she quickly melts into your arms once she feels comfortable. She's a joyful and funny companion who is already crate and leash trained.

Ideal Home

Maya would thrive in an active home with families who enjoy outdoor activities and have experience with dogs. She needs a home with a fenced backyard and owners who are open-minded about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, understanding that they may require protection and education. Patience and high tolerance are a must, as rescued pets can sometimes have an adjustment period and may not be house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Maya has a comprehensive health protocol completed, including: spay/neuter certificate, two DHPPI vaccines, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, negative 4DX test and heartworm test certificates, monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworms, and a health certificate with a vaccine booklet.

Training & Support

Maya is crate and leash trained. Potential adopters should be aware that Maya is NOT house-trained and will require patience and consistency in this area. It's important to understand that rescued animals may have had past trauma and will need time and understanding to adjust to their new environment.

Transportation

Maya is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for an additional fee of $400.00, which will be paid by the adopter prior to departure.
