About Tuxie

Proof You Can Be Handsome and Humble

Meet Tuxie, a dashing 1-year-old, 50 lb mixed breed who’s all about the good life – which for him, means snuggles and naps. He was rescued from the streets of Houston and has settled into his foster home with the grace of a seasoned pro, his tail wagging and his heart wide open. Tuxie is a social butterfly, instantly making friends with every dog he meets. He shares his foster home with a golden retriever and a pit bull, and they all agree he’s the best roommate ever! Tuxie is smart, eager to please, and a fast learner when it comes to new tricks, including leash manners, "sit," and fetch. He’s not a fan of small animals or cats, so a home without them would be ideal. He’s happiest with another friendly dog and humans who appreciate a good balance of playtime and quiet time. Tuxie is fully potty-trained, rarely barks, and is ready to offer a lifetime of loyalty in exchange for belly rubs. If you’re seeking a sweet, devoted companion who will make every day brighter, Tuxie might be your perfect match!

Ideal Home

Tuxie would love a home with another friendly dog. He’s looking for humans who appreciate a good balance of playtime and peace. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended.

Ongoing Health

Training & Support

Tuxie is learning leash manners, "sit," and "fetch." He's eager to please and picks up new things quickly. His prey drive is low, so he says "no thanks" to small animals and cats.
