About Parker Sunday Stroll

Parker is a quiet, gentle, and easygoing companion who doesn't rush life, but rather settles into each moment. He has a soft presence, a calm nature, and moves through the world with a respectful demeanor, offering a peaceful energy that can make any home feel a little more grounded. Estimated to be around 2 years old and weighing 21 lbs, Parker appears to be a Portuguese Podengo, though his exact breed and age are our best guess, as is common with rescue.

Parker truly shines in the company of other dogs. He's currently fostering in a home with multiple dogs and has been wonderfully comfortable from the start. He greets them politely, offers a quick sniff, and then goes about his business. He doesn't need to be the center of attention to feel secure, simply enjoying being part of the pack. He would thrive in a multi-dog household where he can take his cues from confident, friendly dogs around him.

In his foster home, Parker has proven to be an easy and low-maintenance house guest. He is house-trained, sleeps through the night, and has a playful side that emerges more as he becomes comfortable. He's the kind of dog who quietly fits into your routine without asking for much, just a safe space to settle in.

With people, Parker is initially shy and accepts human affection slowly. This isn't due to resistance, but rather because it's simply unfamiliar to him. He allows handling without any issues and shows no signs of aggression, just a gentle hesitation with new touch. Imagine him as a dog who hasn't quite learned the language of affection yet but is open to understanding it over time. He will benefit from a patient, understanding home that gives him the space to decompress and adjust at his own pace. Once he feels safe, his quiet curiosity will begin to bloom. While he doesn't actively seek affection now, with time, consistency, and kindness, a natural connection will grow.

On leash, Parker is still building confidence. New environments and the general outside world can feel a bit overwhelming, but he handles walks without fuss. With gentle guidance and continued exposure, he will continue to improve.

Ideal Home

Parker could do well in a house with a yard where he can explore at his own pace, but he could also succeed in an apartment, especially a calmer, lower-traffic environment during his initial adjustment period. He is not going to come in and demand attention right away. He will unfold slowly, and for the person who understands this and sees the beauty in a soft, steady bond built over time, Parker will be something really special.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions were mentioned in the listing.

Training & Support

Parker is still building confidence on leash and can be a bit overwhelmed by new environments. Gentle guidance and continued exposure will help him improve. He is shy with new people and takes affection slowly, benefiting from patience and time to adjust.
