About Fritz

Meet Fritz, the distinguished older gentleman of the dog world! Think silver-templed movie star energy, but with more fur and slightly stronger opinions about the company he keeps. At 11 years old, Fritz has life completely figured out. He’s housebroken, generally well-mannered, and knows exactly how to behave in a home – this is not a chaotic puppy phase situation, Fritz is a seasoned professional! His goals at this point in life are simple: snacks, a good romp in the yard, and a prime sofa location for his daily allotment of petting. But don’t mistake Fritz for a lazy, do-nothing senior. If he were human, he’d be the guy at the 55+ lifestyle community signed up for every activity on the calendar — gardening club, trivia night, pickleball at 9 a.m., and probably volunteering to organize the potluck. Fritz loves people; adults, visitors, friends of friends… he greets everyone like they belong there. If you’re looking for a dog who will happily hang out with you, supervise your household activities, and graciously accept admiration from anyone who walks through the door, Fritz is your guy. While Fritz is a Great Pyrenees, his day-to-day personality is a little more golden retriever than classic Pyr when it comes to activity level and enjoying human company. That said, he is still all Pyrenees in the watchfulness department, and he takes his neighborhood monitoring duties seriously. Give him a yard to patrol, people to adore, and snacks at reasonable intervals, and Fritz will happily spend his golden years being your loyal shadow, enthusiastic greeter, and full-time household supervisor.

Ideal Home

Fritz needs to be the only dog in the home, and that royal decree also includes no cats. Because of his watchfulness and need to patrol, this is not an apartment dog under any circumstances. Fritz will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, people to spend time with, and enough activity in his day to keep his curious mind entertained.
