Meet Juice (also known as Joey by his foster family)! This handsome 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix is a sweet and charming boy with soulful eyes. He's been through a lot and is now searching for a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and be someone's whole world. Juice is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle. His favorite pastime is quietly hanging out with his person, often resting his head and paw on your arm – it's his special way of showing love.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults who understand that healing takes time. He can be shy and wary of new people, so slow, gentle introductions are key to building his trust. He's not a "problem dog" but a sensitive soul who needs the right person to make him feel safe, loved, and chosen. A cat-free home is a must, as Juice is not cat-friendly and will chase them. He would be happiest as the only dog in the home to soak up all the attention.
Ongoing Health
Juice is a neutered male. He has shown some food aggression with other dogs, but has made great progress with stability and routine by eating separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, which can be managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness; harsh corrections can make him cower. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing and has had some potty accidents. He sleeps well in his crate through the night. He does great in the car but may need a little help getting in.
