Sadie is a 5-year-old, 58 lb Australian Heeler/Cattle Dog/Boxer mix who is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She is one of the most loving dogs you'll ever meet, with a true passion for people. Sadie is instantly trusting and makes it her mission to win over every new friend. She'll gently attach herself to you until you understand the assignment: belly rubs are required! Once she chooses you as her person, she wants to be close, snuggled on the couch, following you from room to room, and ideally sleeping in your bed. Sadie does well with other dogs, preferring mature companions over puppy energy. She tends to ignore cats on walks but has not been tested with cats in a home. Sadie is a wonderful walker with a medium energy level, enjoying outings but also content to lounge. She's known to hit the snooze button for about 15 minutes in the morning, which only adds to her charm.
Inside the home, Sadie is a dream. She is fully house-trained, has never been destructive, and doesn't chew or take things that aren't hers. A simple correction is enough if she shows interest in something she shouldn't have. She only barks if someone knocks at the door, and even then, she remains calm, fulfilling her "I've got this" duty. Sadie also loves car rides and enjoys being your co-pilot in the front passenger seat!
Ideal Home
Sadie thrives in a home where she can be close to her people and enjoy snuggles.
Ongoing Health
Sadie had some benign bumps under her skin removed during her spay, a procedure akin to a mastectomy, to ensure her well-being. She also has a slight heart murmur, which was noted during a pre-operative echo, but is considered great by the vet.
Training & Support
Sadie is house-trained and has no known destructive behaviors. Her foster mom is donating $100 towards her adoption fee in exchange for updates and hopes of seeing her again.
