Thomas

Thomas is an almost 2-year-old Belgian Shepherd with stunning, wolf-like looks. He came to us when his owner surrendered him to a local animal control shelter due to concerns about his size around children. While his previous owner claimed he lived with kids, Thomas became stressed and nervous in the shelter environment, making him difficult to handle. Thankfully, our team was able to assess him outside of his kennel and bring him to rescue, where he has shown a different temperament.

Thomas is high-energy but doesn't have a strong drive for traditional "work" or bite toys. He's more interested in being adored and enjoying a spoiled, active life as a cherished companion. He's looking for a family who appreciates his unique personality and will provide him with the active lifestyle he desires.

Ideal Home

Thomas is seeking an adult-only home with individuals experienced with the Belgian Shepherd breed. Due to his past experiences and displayed fearful and anxious behavior in shelter settings, he will not be placed with children. He would also need to meet any resident dogs to ensure a good match.

Ongoing Health

Thomas will come to his new home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and 4dx tested.

Training & Support

While Thomas has shown some fearful and anxious behavior in stressful environments, he has also shown he can be handled when comfortable. Success with Thomas will likely involve patience, understanding, and a consistent routine in a calm environment.
