Meet Malouk! This distinguished gentleman is a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a soul that radiates quiet companionship. Malouk came to us under sad circumstances, after his person passed away, and then he wasn't receiving the care he deserved. Now, he's ready to find a forever home where he can be cherished and well-cared for.

Malouk is blind, but this has not dimmed his spirit! He navigates his world with incredible resilience and still finds joy in his favorite things: gentle walks, long naps, and, of course, lots of treats! He even has moments of playful spark that will surely melt your heart.

Ideal Home

Malouk would be happiest in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel safe and settled. He would do well as the only pet, but he also gets along with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his sensitivities due to his blindness. He's incredibly friendly with people and has a soft spot for children, making him a gentle presence in the right family.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind and can experience some anxiety. He is doing very well with calming medication and thrives in a consistent environment. He finds comfort in his crate.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained, though he may mark indoors. Belly bands have been an effective solution. He will also need continued leash training, as he can pull, especially when excited or unsure. Consistency and patience will be key to his continued success.
