Violet

Violet is a happy-go-lucky girl with a sweet personality and energy to spare, looking for her special someone! She was found on an interstate on-ramp in Louisiana, malnourished and pregnant. Violet gave birth to six healthy puppies in November 2023, and once they were adopted, she was spayed and is up to date on her shots. She's a high-energy dog who is friendly to people, though she can be timid at first. Violet loves back scratches, belly rubs, and will do anything for a treat! She's very fast and could excel at agility with proper training. Walks are a favorite activity, but she can be a runner if she gets loose. Violet also enjoys playing with all kinds of toys, and has even been known to play with a rock!

Ideal Home

Violet would do best in an only dog home, as she is dog reactive. She cannot live with cats. She likes kids, but can be too wild around them due to her tendency to jump when excited, so consistent work on this behavior will be needed.

Ongoing Health

Violet was heartworm positive upon arrival but has since completed her treatment. She will need yearly preventative medication.

Training & Support

Violet is crate-trained and does well in the house, though she may need a little more work to be completely house-trained. She can be a jumper when excited, and needs someone who can consistently work with her on this. As she is dog reactive, she will need continued training and management in this area.
