About Captain

Meet our sweet older gentleman, Captain. Captain was found abandoned on the side of the road in a rural area with a harness on, dragging a leash. His blanket, food, and bowls were thrown in a field next to him. He was underweight, and his fur was in terrible condition. No dog deserves to be discarded like trash, especially such a kind and loving soul like Captain.

Captain is currently being fostered in a home with many other dogs and a mini pig. He is very respectful of other dogs and has zero aggression. He prefers his own space but can co-exist peacefully with other dogs. Likewise, he would also be happy in a home with no other pets. He loves going on walks but can tend to pull at first from excitement, but it is not an overly hard pull and he is easily controlled. He is absolutely wonderful inside the home and completely non-destructive. He can be left home alone for extended periods of time with no issues. He is also very potty trained and does not have accidents. His highlight of the day is feeding time, and he is always happy for a treat. Captain is a very easy dog and would do great in a quiet, calm environment.

Ideal Home

Captain would do best in a quiet, calm environment. He can coexist peacefully with other dogs or be the only pet.

Ongoing Health

Captain is an older gentleman and favors his back end when getting up from a sleep. He would benefit from joint supplements and a healthy diet.

Training & Support

Captain can tend to pull at first from excitement on walks, but it is not an overly hard pull and he is easily controlled. He is completely non-destructive and potty trained.
