About 6131 Maggie4

Meet Maggie, a sweet and cuddly 2-3 year old German Shepherd mix who weighs around 70 lbs. Maggie was found abandoned and alone in freezing temperatures, but she's ready for her second chance at a loving home! She's crate trained, housebroken, and knows basic commands like sit, shake, stay, and lay down, though she's still working on not jumping when excited. Maggie's favorite activities include going for walks, car rides, and most of all, cuddling by your side. She's a quick learner who loves to be your loyal companion and would be happy to lounge on the couch or sleep near her humans at bedtime.

Ideal Home

Maggie would do best in a home with someone who is home most of the time and has a well-fenced yard (privacy fence or tall chainlink) for her adventures, as she can be a runner. She can be particular with other dogs, so a laid-back canine companion would be ideal, or she might prefer to be the only dog. Maggie is super sweet with children, but needs a few hours to get acquainted with them.

Ongoing Health

Maggie has been diagnosed with diabetes insipidus, a condition that causes excessive drinking and urination. This is easily managed with inexpensive medication given twice daily via injection, or it can be administered in pill form. While she can live without medication, continuing with it is highly recommended as it makes a significant difference in her quality of life.

Training & Support

Maggie is working on not jumping when she greets people. Her new family will be instrumental in teaching her and helping her continue to learn.
