Trix is a 8-month-old, 35-pound spayed female Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul. She was surrendered to a shelter with her brother and was initially more shut down. While her brother has found a home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build confidence. Trix is undersocialized and her baseline is fear of humans, but she has never shown reactivity. When unsure, she looks for a safe place to hide, but she is gentle and quiet. She is incredibly observant and picks things up quickly, like using a doggy door within a couple of days. With patience and time, she softens and begins to trust, eventually playing with toys, running with other dogs, and cuddling with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not, as she is still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She would likely thrive with a confident canine companion to learn from, but adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building. She has been around kids and is shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown.

Training & Support
Trix is housebroken and loves her crate. She is learning to walk on a leash. While she is shy and fearful, she has never shown any reactivity such as growling, barking, lunging, nipping, or biting. The reward for investing in her will be extraordinary as she learns the world isn't so scary and she is safe and loved.

Transporation
Trix is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. She can transport once an adopter is matched. Transports run every few weeks and she will be on the next available transport once approved.
