Meet SANDERS — our handsome little blonde-and-white Aussie boy with the face of an angel and the social circle of a tiny mafia boss. Sanders is just under 40 pounds, absolutely beautiful, housetrained, crate trained, and good with other dogs. He's very easy to live with once you are officially accepted into his inner circle.

Sanders is not a “love everybody at first sight” kind of dog. He has strong opinions and doesn't want to be passed around, rushed, grabbed at, or expected to instantly make friends with every person who walks through the door. Once you are his person, however, he is golden — sweet, loyal, affectionate, and completely devoted. You just have to earn your membership card!

Ideal Home

Sanders needs a quiet, dog-savvy home with someone who understands that trust is built slowly. A single-person home or calm couple would be ideal. He may do best with a female owner, although he has warmed up to some men who gave him space and let him come around on his own terms. His perfect adopter will not take his hesitation personally, will not push him, and will not demand affection. They will simply let Sanders decide, at his own pace, that they are worthy of being in the family.
